Walked from lunch a quick 5 minutes to the AmCham Hungary offices.
Had a quick introduction from Peter David, CEO. Then Norbert Forgaeasi who is a board member and GM at Morgan Stanley provided us a presentation and very good Q&A session. He lived in Hungary, attended college at the University of Toronto and came back to Hungary while working for Morgan Stanley.
AmCham provides assurances to companies looking to do business in Hungary. The chambers goals for 2012 are to:
- Promote multinational companies
- Raise the profiles of the Small and Medium business members of AmCham
- Drive innovation and R&D
- Advocate predictable Business environment in Hungary
- Work with the government to help create business and industry standards
One of the interesting take always is the high level of skilled workers in engineering, computer sciences and services within Hungary. The employees are also 60-70% cheaper then those found at Morgan Stanley in NYC.
